This extension is suitable for use when creating accessible courses.

The Reflection extension creates a document showing selected course questions and the answers users provided.

This article provides an overview of the Reflection extension and extension setup.

Extension overview


The Reflection extension creates a document showing selected course questions and the answers users provided.

You enable the Reflection extension in the Extension section in your Evolve course.

Extension set up


To enable the Reflection extension in your Evolve course, press the Extensions button in the top left and select Reflection.


General section

In the General section:

  1. Add Custom Reflection Title. This text will be shown t the top of the reflection document.
  2. Add Reflection Downloads Title. This is displayed on the Downloads page and as a secondary title after the course title/custom reflection title in the reflection document.
  3. Add Download Available Text. This message is displayed to the learner when the reflection document is available.
  4. Add Download Not Available Text. This message is displayed to the learner when the reflection document is not yet available.
  5. Add Download Button Text. This is button text displayed on the Downloads page.
  6. Add a File Name. This sets the name of the pdf file that is downloaded.
  1. Add a Primary Logo placed on the top left-hand side of the reflection document.
  2. Add a Secondary Logo placed on the top right-hand side of the reflection document.
  1. Add a Reflection Message. This message is displayed on the reflection document.
  2. Add a Reflection Name Label. This is the label for the learner’s name.
  3. Add a Reflection Date Label. This is the label for the date.
  4. Select Reflection Date Format for the document.
  5. Add a Footer Text as needed. This text is displayed in the footer area of the reflection document.
  6. In the Preview Reflection section, click the Preview button to generate a preview of your reflection.

Behavior Section


  1. In the Behavior section, you select your Reflection Document Format. By default, this is set to PDF and the other option is HTML.
  2. Select whether to Display Reflection Downloads Title or not. By default, the Reflection Downloads Title setting is set to Show. Select Hide, to hide the title.
  3. Select whether to Display Learner Name or not. By default, the Display learner Name setting is set to Show. Select Hide, to hide learners name.
  4. Select the Reflection Obtainment Method. Select Course Attainment Completed, Course Assessment Completed, Course Assessment Passed, All Open Input Components Completed or None. By default, this is set to Course Attainment Completed.
  5. Click the Reflection Components dropdown and select which components will be included in the reflection.
  1. Select whether to Only Show Completed Reflection Components or not. By default, the Only Show Completed Reflection Components setting is set to Show All Reflection Components. Select Only Show Completed Reflection Components, to change this setting.
  2. Select whether to Display Reflection Component Display Title Text or not. By default, this is set to Hide. Select Show to display the Reflection Component Display Title Text on the reflection document.
  3. Select whether to Display Reflection Component Body Text or not. By default, this is set to Hide. Select Show to display the Reflection Component Body Text on the reflection document.
  4. Select whether to Display Reflection Component Instruction Text or not. By default, this is set to Show. Select Hide to hide the Reflection Component Instruction Text on the reflection document.
  5. Select how to Display Content Items After Reflection Components. By default, this is set to Before Component. Select After Components to change this setting.
  6. Select whether to display the Reflection Completion Dialog or not. By default, this is set to Display Dialog. Select Hide Dialog to change this setting.

Content Items Section


  1. In the Content Items section, you Add Content Items to your Reflection extension.
  2. For each Content Item, add an Item Title. This is the reflection item title.
  3. Add an Item Body. This is the reflection item body.

Add, duplicate, and delete Content Items as needed.

Font Sizes Section


  1. In the General section, set the Custom Reflection Title/Course Title Font Size. By default, this is set to 32.
  2. Set the Reflection Downloads Title Font Size. By default, this is set to 18.
  3. Set the Reflection Message Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  4. Set Name and Name Label Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  5. Set Date and Date Label Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  6. Set Footer Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  1. In the Content Item section, set Content Item Title Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  2. Set Content Item Body Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  1. In the Reflection Component section, set Reflection Component Display Title Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  2. Set Reflection Component Body Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  3. Set Reflection Component Instruction Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.
  4. Set Reflection Component Answer Font Size. By default, this is set to 11.

Alignments Section


  1. In the Alignments section, you set Custom Reflection Title/Course Title Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Center.
  2. Set Reflection Downloads Title Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  3. Set Reflection Message Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  4. Set Name and Name Label Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  5. Set Date and Date Label Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  6. Set Footer Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  1. In the Content Item section, set Content Item Title Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  2. Set Content Item Body Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  1. In the Reflection Component section, set Reflection Component Display Title Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  2. Set Reflection Component Body Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  3. Set Reflection Component Instruction Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
  4. Set Reflection Component Answer Text Alignment. Select Left, Center or Right. By default, this is set to Left.
