February 2026 Update
Animations
Bring your content to life with animation controls in New Evolve! You can now apply animations to content elements to guide learner focus, reinforce hierarchy, and create more dynamic learning experiences without adding complexity to your workflow. With Animations, you can:
- Apply animation effects to content elements.
- Set default animations at the theme level for consistency.
- Override animations within specific sections for more control.
- Improve visual emphasis and content flow.
- Create more engaging, modern course experiences.
Open Response Elements
Capture learner reflection and numeric responses with flexible input fields. You can now add both open text and open number inputs to your courses, making it easier to support reflection, scenario-based learning, calculations, and applied learning moments without rigid answer formats. With Open Response Inputs, you can:
- Add open-ended text prompts to any course.
- Capture numeric responses for calculations or data-based questions.
- Save responses as variables for use with Logic.
- Build more dynamic, conditional learning experiences.
- Encourage deeper engagement and learner input.
Expanded Branding Controls
We have expanded branding capabilities in New Evolve to make it easier to create production-ready experiences that align with your organization’s visual identity, and give you greater control over how your courses represent your organization. With this release, you can:
- Customize logo placement.
- Configure footer branding.
- Apply branding consistently across courses.
Section Indicator
The Section Indicator adds visible context within structured courses (i.e., multi-section experiences), making it easier for learners to understand where they are and how content is organized. Learners can also click the indicator to quickly navigate to a specific section on a page. The Section Indicator appearance can be styled in the Theme Editor so it aligns seamlessly with your brand and overall course design.
Device-Specific Editing & Theming
With device-specific editing and theming, you can fine-tune layouts and styles for each screen size without duplicating content or compromising your design.
What’s New
Customize layouts by device: Adjust spacing, alignment, and layout independently for desktop, tablet, and mobile to ensure content looks intentional on every screen.
Refine visual styles per breakpoint: Tailor typography, sizing, and visual hierarchy for smaller screens without impacting your desktop experience.
Edit in the right context: Switch between device views directly in the editor and make changes exactly where they apply.
Preserve consistency without rework: Maintain a single source of content while applying device-specific refinements, reducing manual fixes and redesigns.
Preview before publishing: See how your content appears across devices to confirm designs adapt cleanly before learners ever see them.
Why it matters
Learners access content on a wide range of devices, and a one-size-fits-all layout doesn’t always work. Device-specific editing and theming makes it easier to deliver a consistent, usable, and on-brand experience everywhere, without increasing authoring complexity or maintenance effort.
January 2026 Update
Logic Is Here!
Logic is now available in the new Evolve, giving authors an easy, no-code way to create more adaptive and personalized learning experiences.
With Logic, you can define simple “if → then” rules that respond to learner behavior – without scripts, complex configurations, or workarounds.
What’s New
Create adaptive learning paths: Show or hide content, unlock pages or sections, and control navigation triggered by learner progress or performance.
Tailor assessment feedback: Deliver targeted feedback and remediation based on scores or responses, helping learners focus on what matters most.
Build rules in context: Add Logic directly at the course, page, row, element, or assessment level, so rules are created exactly where the behavior applies.
Manage logic in one place: View and manage all global and local actions, dialogs, and variables from a centralized list – directly inline in the editor.
Preview before publishing: Test different learner scenarios to confirm your logic behaves as expected before your course goes live.
Why This Matters
Logic makes it easier to design learning that adapts to the learner – not the other way around. Teams can create more relevant journeys, targeted remediation, and personalized feedback without increasing authoring complexity or maintenance effort.
New Evolve Logic
Today I'm going to demonstrate Logic, our new feature for New Evolve. Logic already existed in Legacy Evolve, but I'm going to show you the new version we've got. Legacy Evolve, to do anything, really, you had to navigate away from your course to a separate part of the tool.
Global Actions
In our release video we show global actions, variables, and dialogs accessible from Course Settings. In keeping with the design priorities of new Evolve, we've moved those settings to the site header, similar to themes. This way they are always easily accessible directly inline in the editor and your course.

Getting Started
Evolve Dashboard
Welcome to the Evolve dashboard, which displays any courses that have been created so far. Each has an options menu for management, and indicates when each course was last updated, and who owns it. The course library can be searched, sorted, and filtered, and the view switched between grid and list.
Create a Course
To begin creating content, use the Add Course button. Select 'Create Course' from the menu, then give your course a name. We will call ours
Adding Sections
We're ready to begin building our page. Evolve gives you sections, rows, and columns to build with, reflecting the structure used in other common web development tools. This is how we will lay out the content within our page. Let's add our first section.
Adding Content
Editing Sections
Let's add a new section and choose a multi-column layout for some image elements. Now, because we have a blank column, we can go to add in the menu, and select element to choose from a selection including images, text, graphics, accordions, flip cards, and more.
Interactive Elements
Let's add a new section and drop in an interactive element. I can add a new section from the Add menu here, or from the Page settings on the right. This blank template already contains a column, so we just need to add a Flip Card element.
Adding Questions
Adding questions to test learner knowledge is a key part of any e-learning, so Evolve has a built-in Question template to make this super easy. When adding a new Section, select any of the Question templates, such as this Multiple Choice option.
Theming
Theming: Colors
Theming helps make pages and content look exactly as we want. To achieve this, we navigate to the theming area. Here, the currently applied theme to our course is indicated by a border around it. This is one of the built-in themes, which can't be edited, so we need to create our own theme to brand this course to our liking.
Theming: Fonts
Let's examine our font options. Currently, there are two areas -- headings and paragraph text -- both set to the same font. If we wish to change the font, we simply select the desired area , like headings, click into it, and then decide which font we prefer.
Theming: Interface
Buttons can all be themed at once for consistency throughout your course with these easy to use settings. We can choose the background color of the button itself, the text color, making sure that the contrast is right for legibility, and also the size of the text , by choosing one of our existing text styles to theme it.
Theming: Styling
Suppose we want to have a different look here to make our first section stand out more, say for example a black background with white text. To do this, we go to the section's design settings, and change the background color from white to black.
Finalizing
Preview and Backup
While you are building with Evolve, you can make use of the Preview function in the top right corner. This presents us with clear view of the content we have created, free of any interface elements, as it will look when published.
Share and Review
At any point during course creation, there is the option to share the course with those who we wish to review it. The share button in the toolbar gives the option to create a preview link , which can be copied and sent directly to anyone for their feedback.
Settings and Publish
Evolve has a course settings menu where you can perform additional actions with your courses, such as translations. To add a new language version to your course, you just need to export the course as a file using this link, send it to your translation partner or service, and once it's returned, use the plus symbol next to the translations heading to create your new language version.
