Assessments include a watermarking feature that can help you protect the content within the assessment and mitigate answer sharing between learners.
This article gives an overview of the watermark feature in assessments, includes examples of the watermark in learner view, and walks you through identifying a user in the platform based on a watermarked user ID.
Watermarks | Purpose
When a learner enrolls in and launches an assessment, her user ID is watermarked in the header of each assessment question.
If the learner screenshots and posts assessment questions for other learners to view, an admin can use the watermarked user ID from the screenshot to identify the learner by user ID in the platform.
Watermarks | Learner View
The watermarked user ID is included in the header of each question in an assessment - while the learner is taking the assessment.
The watermarked user ID is included at the end of each question - while the learner is reviewing her response details.
Watermarks | Admin Follow Up
Admin can use the watermarked user ID to identify a learner in the platform by creating an advanced filter to locate the learner by user ID.
Follow these steps to locate a learner by user ID:
- Navigate to Users in the admin nav.
- Select the Filter dropdown and create an Advanced filter
- Create a filter to locate the learner by User ID - here's an example:
- User is Active = True
- User ID is [insert watermarked user ID]
- Click Filter.
- The learner's profile should be the only result.
